Gstaad – Switzerland Part 4

Gstaad… the famous village in the expensive mountain paradise popular with the upper class like Europe’s royal households, celebrities…. this is probably one of the most expensive place in the world that doesn’t really impressed me, I meant the village not the surrounding alps.

Gruyères & Vevey – Switzerland Part 3

Gruyères! If you like cheese, you might have heard of Gruyères coz this town is named after their delicious cheese. A bowl of Gruyères cheese dip… drools.

Didn’t want to pay to visit its historic castle so I just walked around it… no fun walking on ice.

Vevey

Underground prison.

Ok. So what so great about this place? This was built as early as 9th century to protect one of the main roads to Great St Bernard pass to Italy. But its fame only came when it became the setting of English poet Byron’s “The Prisoner of Chillon” (inspired by François Bonivard who was imprisoned there) when the castle was used as the state prison in the 16th century.
