Lonely leaf

This is Holly.  Do you know holly has for centuries served as both boundary marker and house decoration, lifting flagging winter spirits. Seemingly indestructible with its prickly protection, it has been a symbol of renewal and eternal life, and was thought to provide protection from witchcraft and lightning. It was considered bad luck to cut holly trees down.
